Visit to Ruakaka beach/camping site

On the first day of the school holidays, my family and I went to a camping site up north called Ruakaka Reserve Motor Camp. It took along time to get there by car. It took around 2-3 hours.

We booked in earlier for 4 days and 3 nights in a tent, so we did'nt need to care a bit.
When we got there we had to get out of the car for fresh air, because all the way from Auckland to Rukaka, we could see many farms and dryland. I was so happy that I live in Henderson were the air is fresh. But we are not talking about that now.

When we got access to the camping ground, we had to put our tent out obivously, so we did but it took quite a long time because we kept fussing about were the front door is. But we finished.

There was a kitchen for use and toliet and shower joined together. It was close to us that we had no trouble getting in and out. The only thing is that when we came to the office to pay the booking, the office lady gave us 10 50c tokens to use for the kitchen and the 5min hot showers.

At night it was not so cold than we thought it was. Because we brought in so much warm clothing that most of them had'nt been touched since we left. I was all hot and stuffy at night that I couldn't sleep well in my sleeping bag!

On the next day we got up at around 6.30am to around 7.30am, had breakfast and left for a morning walk on the beach. It was a reserve motor camp so we couldn't take any seashells. How sad! My dad thought there was fishes in the ocean at the beach, so he brought his fishing rod out and gave it a shot. Then he realised there was no fish here, so he drove us up to Mardsen Point, where my dad caught a few fishes! It was so sad that they were so big that I could eat them, because I hated fish!

A few days pasted, and it was time to leave, I had so much fun that I even forgot what my homework was! But I did because I 'm doing my homework! I wish I could go back there and have more fun and remember to bring sporting stuff to play with!

visit to soljans winery

Today I went to the WINERY ,KUMEU in AUCKLAND.
Winery Tour started at 11am there were lots of people who were waiting.
The restaurant manager (he looked like my neighbor grandfather) told us how to make a wine for one hour .
First I saw grape trees that were covered with net because to protect from letting the bird eat the grape, and then we went inside the factory where they have alot of instruments those need to make wine .

HOW TO MAKE A WINE

1.pick some grapes
2.wash them carefully
3.squash and squeeze by the machine
4.Put it in the stainless that can be fermented
5.put it in a wine bottle

After the tour I tested a sweet wine, it tated like salty cola.
So I wouldn't drink it even i grow up.

GOLF, my new favourite sport

Today, my family and I went golfing. We went there to take lessons. My balls went really far. They went about 90 metres.
Our tutor was Korean so we could understand him easily. He told us to bend our knees, always whatever we do don't take our eyes off the ball and the targets, spread your legs out, don't hit the ball to hard and so on.
My brother hurt his finger badly and had to put cream on it. He said "It hurts a lot!" and he burst out crying. I felt so sorry for him.
Well, but it was still a nice day. We had so much fun.

My dream, a GEOPHYSICIST

I have always wanted to be a scientist since I was little. Now, this is my chance to be one.
Not just any old random scientist, but a geophysicist. A geophysicist is someone who studies about the physics of the earth & its atmosphere. So I thought it would be really cool to be one.
In order to be a geophysicist, I have to study. So I print off sheets from a website called
teach-nology.com. It is a very good website for science because it has all sorts of science worksheets. I think all teachers should use it.
Well, but that's another story. Anyway, if I get to be a geophysicist, I would like to be a very kind and generous one. And I would like to be someone who respects others and someone who others respect. I would like to get at least one 'Novel Award' , leave my name in history and many many more.
I hope my dream comes true!

YOUR MONOPOLIZED

The monopoly update you are reading now is going to tell you who won it was a fine day when we played monopoly Kevin and Miss Cheeseman got bankrupt. Josh, Vikram and Louisa was left in the game we all had hotels on different properties. It was a close game but if we carried on it would take fifty million years. How Kevin got bankrupt was he landed on one of Louisa's properties [she had The City and Canary Wharf [the most expensive ones] and he didn't have enough money so he lost. We all thought Josh was going to win because he had 3 hotels on the green properties. But then the winner ended up being Vikram - because I had 3 hotels and heaps of people got sent to my properties!!!

SWEET!

THE FARMER BROWN EGG

This are the photo of the farmer brown egg.
I learnt to make the sticker stay on the egg from my dad.
First we carefully cut the stickers in to pieces and put it on the egg then I put it in the hot boiling water so it stuck.
It was so cool and it took 20minutes,but one egg cracked so we ate it.
The funniest thing was when we were going to eat it,the sticker didn't stretch so we had to cut it.

Lady Gaga

On Saturday Rhiannon and Farah went to Lady Gaga's concert with thousands of people. Rhiannon and Farah had so much fun that when they got home they were sleepy. Lady Gagas concert was held at the Vector arena. The songs she had done where: Poker Face, Love Game, Bad Romance, Just Dance, Eh theres nothing else I can say, Naughty Boy, Telephone, Videophone, Uh Oh, and Paparazzi. The 5 dress's that we like are: Bubble Dress full of bubbles, Fireworks bra with fireworks flying in the air, pink space glasses for a space song Tornado dress for a tornado act Princess dress for a weird kid song. It smelt like fireworks because there where a lot of fireworks. We ate and drank: coke and water, hot fingers and chips. We both could see it well but we were watching it from the screens that were held all around us. The concert she made was called the Fame Monster. We hope Lady Gaga comes back to New Zealand again. Next day Lady Gaga made a comment on twitter and she said that all the people in Auckland are a bunch of idiots, we think her comment about Auckland wasn't very nice. We both thought the concert was very good though.

camp video

this is our keynote
from TAMIR & JARRED

Dain and Izzy's Camp Movie

Today we did keynotes about Camp Bentzon. We had 5 different pages we had to include. They were... Something that made us laugh out loud, something new that we learnt, something new that we discovered about ourselves, something that scared us and something we found challenging. Isabella and I did 8 pages including the 5 pages, the title page and the two "thank you for watching" pages. We had to write at least one sentence to each of the 5 pages. We got some photos from the server then moved them to iphoto. Then, we moved them on to our camp keynote. When we had finished writing, putting photos on and all the extra stuff we wanted, we had to export it to quicktime player. It was very hard because we had to make the timing perfect and get the punctuation correct. It took us quite a long time to do it. Here's a slideshow of our finished work. Enjoy!

a trip to Ethiopia

Hello my name is Farhiyo . I went on a trip to Ethiopia. I went to see my sister in law because she had a baby boy . When I went there I didt get use to it because I left it when I was little but every one knows me . We stayed after a month then started an islamic school. At the islamic school we learnt quran witch is a bible for us it teachs us who our god is and his name witch is allah . What else l learnt was our religon rule's one of them is after the age of 9 you have to where a scarf because if boys see your hair its not right, its against our rules for our religion, but I am not sure why. Another rule is you need to pray at the age of 9 because it means you don't belife in allah if you dont pray but if you pray it means you do belife our religion but i stared at the age of 7 because i learnt quickly . The islamic school is on Monday to Thursday, and Thursday is a half day . After we stayed one month it was a special day for the muslims. So I and all my friends and cousins went to this big beautiful garden that was so green like green paint. When we got there we had some chips, drinks and burgers. Then we went to the slides and the monkey bars. When it got late we went home and my sister made us popcorn then we watched this move called 'shot it'.It was the best move . The next day we went shopping and i buyed a skirt and its t-shirt with shoes .On the other day my mum went shopping to buy clothes because like all other people that go on holiday but not men the buy clothes form a other places for muslim people and sale it her for money so my mum got some clothes because some of our cousins and friends and family said that they wanted clothes to buy so we got some clothes to buy .Then it was our last day and we had a good sleep .When it was morning we stared to pack up then when it was 3 clock we in the car and went to the airpot and had our last tomato sauce and chips at ethiopia .We said bye to every on and went into the airplane we stayed in the airplane for three hours then landed into dubia .I ran to the bed and called room survice i had hot choclate and cake .Then i went to sleep when it was morning i went down stairs to have something to eat after we ate we went to hop on the airplane and this time it was 5 hours .When we landed in brisbane then we stayed in brisbane 1 minute the went back in the plane and left brisbane and stayed on plane 3 or 4 hours and we were back home yeah yeah yeah .

Did you know?...

Vancouver is named after Captain Vancouver.

A resident in Vancouver is called Vancouverite.

Vancouver is probably the only place that you could ski, play golf and go sailing all in the same day.

The cool thing about it is we are going to try to break the world record 2 and a half years. We might not break the record but we will try and to know how to play monopoly propoly we used to play it like this every time we had a auction we would pay as much as we could. We love playing monopoly, 2nd of march we finally brought all the places so we can now buy, sell, build houses and hotels.

Newspapers

last week we did a lot of stuff with newspapers. We read the newspaper, and leant new things out of the paper, and then we cut the stuff we learnt out of the papers. We looked at photos with sentences under them and found ones we found interesting and put them into our journal. Most of the people cut out a picture of this guy doing a cool trick while ice skating and then we had to write a story about the winter olmpics that is half a page using just a crazy headline. We also did a scavenger hunt - we had to find stuff that was a big bisness and a small bisness and furniture and things we can eat or throw away.
we talked about flags this week and what our flag means. we tried to work out which countries had which flags. we also talked about what it means to have a flag and why they look like it. we also did a class quiz on flags on the screen - this week we got 7 out 10 questions right.

Football practice

Well everyone in room 22 are doing Football practice. Football is when you are kicking and passing the ball around and try score some goals. Football is like soccer but you are playing on a big field and your helping your team/group. Football is really fun that you love love it. When you think that Football is fun and you like it the leader will give you a piece of paper and he will tell you everything and where football will be running and then you take the piece of paper home and you tell your parents if you are aloud to join Football. So when you get the piece of paper on the paper will be the cost for the Football. When your parents have signed the paper you bring it in to the teacher and you do what ever you want to do then after school you get to go and have your game of Football.

The rest of our photos from the football session can be seen here
